Six lines of construction work, one accountable contractor
From the foundation to the last mop: building, drainage, fencing, water, wiring, finishing. Take one line or take the whole scope under a single contract and programme.
What we tender for, and what we deliver
Each line below is a trade group we run with our own supervision. On larger jobs they combine under one contract, which is usually where the client saves the most time.
Building construction
New builds from foundation to handover: bungalows, duplexes, extensions, small commercial and institutional buildings. Design and build, or build to your consultant's drawings.
Building construction02Civil & external works
Side drains, culverts, kerbs, perimeter fencing, gates and gate houses, stone paving and compound works — the parts that decide whether a compound survives the rainy season.
External works03Water & boreholes
Motorised boreholes, overhead tanks and stands, pump sets and reticulation from source to tap.
Water works04Renovation & repairs
Alterations, corrections and defect repair: badly laid tiles, wall and ceiling cracks, failed roofs, damp, and tired kitchens or bathrooms.
Renovation05Electrical & plumbing
First and second fix installations, distribution boards, sanitary ware, pipework, earthing and the testing that proves it all works.
Building services06Building cleaning
Post-construction and pre-handover cleaning, including the cement film, paint spots and dust that a normal cleaner will not touch.
CleaningHow a price is built, so you can argue with it
A single figure with no basis is not an offer, it is a guess. Every quotation we issue is broken down enough to be checked.
Measure or read the scope
Where you have a bill of quantities we price it line by line. Where you do not, we measure from drawings or from the site.
Specify the materials
Brand and grade named for the items that matter — cement, blocks, rods, roofing sheets, cables, pipes. Substitution needs your written approval.
Price labour and plant
Trades priced against the programme, with plant hire shown as a separate line rather than buried in the rates.
State assumptions and exclusions
Ground conditions, access, power supply, statutory fees and anything else that could change the number — written down at the start.
What to send with your enquiry
The more of this you can put in one message, the faster and tighter the offer:
- Location of the site, with a landmark or plus code
- Architectural drawings, structural drawings, or a sketch with dimensions
- Any bill of quantities, engineer's report or existing quotation
- The level of finish you want — and a photograph of something you like
- Your target start date and how long the money has to stretch
- Whether materials are to be supplied by us or by you
Photographs of an existing building you want altered are worth more than a paragraph of description.
We do not charge for a quotation on a defined scope. We do charge for measured take-off and bill preparation — that is professional work and it is done by Peterch QS, the practising arm of the company, not by the contractor.
We will not quote a building off a phone description and a guessed area and then hold you to the guess. If the information is not there, we will visit, or we will quote a clearly-stated provisional sum.
Tell us about the job
Send drawings, a bill of quantities, a scope note or even photographs of the site. We will tell you what it takes to build, how long it will run and what it will cost.
Replies are sent by WhatsApp. Every message to info@peterch.org is read — include a working number and we will come back to you the same working day.
